Ray Hyun
Ray Hyun is the founding pastor of Mountain Ridge Community Church in Redmond, WA. Founded with a vision to make a difference one person at a time, the church publicly started in January 1998.
Ray has a passion to know Christ and make Him known. He is a disciple maker at heart and seeks to help Christians grow into a mature faith that reproduces more disciples. One of the experiences he is most thankful about in ministry was serving as chapter president on a student leadership team with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship during his college days at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He had the unique experience of speaking to thousands of people at one time as he did the welcome for the mission conference held in Urbana in 1990, and it was during this time while serving on this leadership team that he met and became friends with Christina who became his future wife.
Ray holds a Bachelor of Science Biology degree from the University of Illinois and a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Ray and his wife, Christina, have two incredible children, Bryant and Claire who both have a growing passion for Christ as well as playing baseball and volleyball. Ray‘s hobbies include cycling, skiing, riding motorcycles, and attending as many of his kids’ baseball and volleyball games as he can.
